What is a chemical pregnancy?

With a chemical pregnancy, a couple will take a pregnancy test and if it’s taken at just the right time, it will show up positive, but if they happen to take another pregnancy test a few days later the result will be negative.  The reason for this is that the fertilized egg does not attach itself to the uterine wall and with the second test they have already miscarried. It can be quite a shock for the couple as they have to deal with a miscarriage while they were under the impression that they’re pregnant. A lot of women, however, are not aware that they are pregnant before they miscarry and begin what they think is their normal menstrual cycle.
